Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! I can't believe how much more fun Halloween felt this year with a toddler! I have always loved this holiday, but there is just something about seeing it all unfold through the eyes of your little one that makes it such a different experience! Kaden had his heart set on being Elmo, but after trying the costume on last week and getting this reaction, we decided to not torture him and go with something a little less invasive. Mamaw found this Superman costume for him and it worked out great!

Kaden started feeling super yucky again on Thursday, and after having another fever, we took him to the doctor and found out he had Hand Foot Mouth Disease, which definitely took it's toll on the little man. There's really nothing you can take for this, and you just have to let it run it's course...poor little monkey! He had a stubborn fever that just wouldn't go away for three days. Finally this morning, he woke up feeling better than ever, and we took advantage and took him to Boo at the Zoo! The weather was absolutely beautiful and it was so much fun seeing all the little ones in their costumes! He absolutely loved it and we definitely want to turn it into a tradition each year!

kaden LOVES all things music. Being the son of a musician has it's perks...one is all the random BIG BOY instruments in the house. Daddy took out his practice set and kaden had a field day with it....

I caught this video a wee bit too late, he had been rockin out to this amazing tune for about 10 minutes, and this was the third time we had played it.

Elmo FAIL.

For the past two months, I have been talking to Kaden about halloween and what he wanted to dress up as....he DEMANDED he be Elmo! Much to my dismay, his excitement did not match my idea of how he would feel about seeing himself as Elmo. His expression of horror says it all.





Our poor little man felt super feverish over the weekend. (we waited until he was feeling better to torture him with the Elmo costume) I have never seen him feeling so under the weather...so heartbreaking. Simon has been his super best cuddle buddy as you can see from the pics below.

It has been so long since I have had a chance to post, so I thought I would just throw a few fun randoms out there...

*Kaden is obsessed with Snow White, the movie. We haven't introduced him to movies at all yet, but in our bedroom we have a little tv with an old vcr. Since Snow has always been a favorite of mine, I thought he might get a kick out of the seven dwarfs. Now he demands every single day, sometimes 2 or 3x, to see the party scene with the dwarfs and Snow. He dances around the bed like a dwarf with the craziest grin on his face. It is incredibly cute.

*Kaden eats a piuece of string cheese every single time we go to the store. Eating is one of the things that allows him to sit in those super uncomfy grocery carts without having a meltdown, and I usually forget a snack, because i am *that* mommy. It's a horrible habit I have gotten into, especially because more times than not, I forget to shell out the 40 cents for it. One of these days the Target security cameras are going to tell me I need to pay them 96 dollars for all the missing string cheese or it's off to prison I go.







We attempted to go pick pumpkins this weekend. I messed up in researching pumpkin patches and the one we went to was not all that fun. We may have to go on another little adventure next weekend to a "cooler" pumpkin patch.

I can't believe I have yet to post about our trip to see the circus come to town! I am not a huge fan of the circus, clowns completely creep me out, and I am against their unethical treatment of the animals....but we do like TRAINS. The circus was coming to Denver on the largest Steam Engine train in the country, and when Mamaw suggested we go say hello to the train, we had to go!

The train was coming and kaden wanted to hang out and sit on the tracks so that he could have the best view. This is him after I had to pull him off for the 90th time.
