The weather is absolutely GORGEOUS out and it was a perfect day for a picnic at our favorite park! Mamaw and Papaw have never been to the Purple Mountain park so we had them come along.

Afterward, we ventured over to Outdoor World to say hello to the Easter Bunny and to get excited for all things camping! Summer is right around the corner, and this is going to be Kaden's first experience with camping...so excited!

Spring has sprung in Colorado and we have been enjoying every minute of the outdoors! Chad wanted to venture over to his old neighborhood where he used to live and go on a hike. Chad had given me a tour of the different neighborhoods he had lived in when we visited a few years ago, but this one looked completely different to me now. The neighborhood is a part of Littleton called the Ken Caryll Valley, it backs right up to the mountains and the valley is incredibly gorgeous. We have been scoping out neighborhoods for where we would like to buy in a year or so, and this one just jumped to the top of my list!

~I swear we must have seen 20 deer up on this trail. And they were super friendly and approachable. Kaden refuses to call them anything but *reindeer*.

We spent last Sunday welcoming home Aunt Gloria and Uncle Larry from their winter escape to Florida. We had a BBQ at Mamaw and Papaw's house and kaden could not be more thrilled with all of the love and attention.

daddy time.

Some people think that work Monday-Friday think that it would be horrific to work Saturdays. I absolutely love it. Not only do I have two other weekdays off because I am "paying my dues on saturday", but I am only there for a few hours, and Kaden gets a big dose of Daddy time, which I love.

butterflies

I have a thing for wings. I love to believe that my mom visits us often in the gift wrapping of a bird, and I sometimes feel butterflies are angels in another form. So it makes sense that we would take a little trip to the butterfly pavillion after we said goodbye to our sweet little simon. I just wanted to feel close to our angels....kaden, on the other hand, was super bored with the "angels" and wanted to focus on the cockroaches.

and as I mentioned, my Dad and Jennifer tied the knot this past weekend. They were together 15 years, and finally decided it was time to make it official! Sending you both mad love and best wishes for a beautiful next chapter!!!

Thank you so much for all the love regarding little simon. I will admit the loss of my little furry friend has thrown our world completely into a whirlwind. For those that asked, Mike is hangin in there, though he is most definitely feeling a huge void without his super best friend. we are all adjusting to live without our sweet boy.

ps...how much do I love denver? As if I have not said it enough......my hairdresser sent me the sweetest email with his condolences for simon. seriously? the degree of kindness I have stumbled upon recently has completely blew my mind.

*saying goodbye to simon*

Dear Kaden,

We said goodbye to an amazing friend this week. Simon was an incredible furry friend, with a personality that could rival any human. He loved to snuggle and sleep on mommy's head at night. He wanted to be friends with everybody and everything. I remember a certain doggie friend visiting, and he wanted so badly to be his best friend. When Banana (TT's kitty) came to spend some time with us, Simon desperately tried to make her feel at home and cozy up with her, even though Banana resisted and most likely would have preferred clawing his eyes out. Simon drove cross country with mommy, on her lap, and moved several times, always making sure to put on his brave face and take care of those he loved. He adored Michael Meowgi and they were instant brothers when Mike joined our family. Simon made all kinds of crazy noises, not like anything I've ever heard from a cat...he sometimes talked like a pigeon and sometimes sand a bird calling song for the birdies to come closer.

He filled our world with so much joy and showed us the true beauty of unconditional love. We all loved him very much and we will never forget our sweet simon.
